Julie Cleverly     b. 1960

The artist lives and works in West Sussex. She graduated with a Fine Art honours degree in 2018 and has been involved in exhibitions and self initiated projects ever since, including exhibiting at Pallant House Gallery. She works in painting, sculpture and illustration. Her paintings explore the sensations and feelings of the landscape of the South Downs, responding to the time, sense of place and spirit of the land and sea.

Created mainly from glass and incorporating real objects, her life mask sculptures are a celebration of life, from pain to ecstasy, sex to death, love to hate. Illustrations examine politics, feminism and morality. Her recent KAtZi digital illustrations using wordplay are humorous and fun.
